Laura: Day One

Today we began our journey on the Stone Soup Bus Tour. We left bright and early this morning from Grand Forks. Our first stop was Bismarck to see the North Dakota State Capitol. At the Capitol Building, we were able to observe both the State House and the State Senate in session. It was a great experience to see first-hand how our government works. We were also able to visit with some of the Senators and Representatives. After leaving the Capitol Building, we went to the Governor’s Mansion to visit with First Lady Betsy Dalrymple. The First Lady told us of her focus on public service and volunteerism. She thought it was great that we were devoting our Spring Break to serving communities in North Dakota.

  1. so glad you spent spring break getting out in North Dakota. Bismarck seems to have much going on with the session in governing.
It is all something that seems pretty impressive and glad you are interested.
