Michelle, Day 3 – Regent

“We made History today at the Enchanted castle,” claimed Gary Greff.  The service project in Regent was to help him to clean the rooms in his upcoming project. Greff is a true visionary and that is trying to find a niche that can improve his town. He is very creative and I am very happy that I had the opportunity to meet him.

We were able to explore the town’s main street.  On our journey we had the privilege of exploring the local town’s museum. Our tour guide had a lot of pride in showing us artifacts of North Dakota. One piece that stands out the most for me was the Buffalo head. I was shocked in how big it was. The museum was a fun place that illustrated the many time periods that locals experienced.

As we travel to our next destination, we had the opportunity to see a ghost town.  I was shocked in see most of the building destroyed. It was a disappointment to see this town no longer operating.

Today’s highlight of the trip was to see the casino. I have been to many casinos in different states but not in the mid-west. It had a similar set up like most but I felt this one had a lot more of their culture and legacy.
